HYDERABAD: Education minister Sabitha Indra Reddy, TS Council of Higher Education (TSCHE) Chairman Prof. R. Limbadri and Telangana DGP M. Mahendar Reddy launched an online Student Academic Verification Service (SAVS) at the TSCHE office in Hyderabad on Friday.

Under the initiative, academic certificates of students can be instantly verified online by institutions as well as recruiters. The institutes and employers can carry out a more thorough verification by paying Rs. 1,500 and submitting soft copies of the documents, which are then physically verified.

To avail the service, the agency concerned has to register on the TSCHE website www.tsche.ac.in/. The SAVS can be used by the police to detect fake certificates. Until now, institutes would take a much longer time to verify the documents as they would do it physically. Data of about 25 lakh students who graduated between 2010 and 2021 is stored in the SAVS.
