Vijay skips Pongal, continues shooting

While the entire state was celebrating Pongal, Vijay and Amy were working on the festival day to complete the action-drama Theri! Reason — the makers want the filming to be complete by next week. With a song and some minor talkie portions remaining, there’s this buzz that the teaser would be released on January 26.

Amy’s tweet says, “Happy Pongal! Excited to spend the first day of the Tamil New Year on the sets of Theri with Vijay (sic).” Meanwhile, the makers have released a couple of stills from the film to keep Vijay fans happy in which he’s seen in a traditional dhoti-shirt with a hat and pair of spectacles, which are doing the rounds on social networking sites.

We hear that a large set has been erected for the particular song and with that, a major part of the film would be wrapped up. Produced by Kalaipuli S Thanu, Theri, in which Vijay plays an emotional cop fighting society’s evil, is likely to be released on April 14. Samantha plays one of the leads and director Mahendran is the antagonist in film.
