I feel like a super woman: Aishwarya Rajesh on her four upcoming films
Aishwarya feels happy that actresses are getting better opportunities and more important roles in films.
Aishwarya Rajesh is glad that a positive wave of change is spreading in K’town. “There are definitely good changes in the offing. Being a woman, I feel happy that actresses are getting better opportunities and more important roles in films,” she says.
When the actress signed Kaaka Muttai, little did she expect that she would play a greater variety of roles! “I played a mother of two slum kids in the film. So I thought I would end up doing only such roles, but I am glad that I have been getting really good offers,” she tells us with a smile. Aishwarya has a slew of upcoming releases — Kutrame Thandanai, Idam Porul Yaeval, Hello Naan Pei Pesuren, Deepavali Thuppakki, and a couple more in the pipeline. “Most actresses peak in their careers when they are of my age. I feel like a super woman. Hopefully, I’ll fit that stereotype too,” she chuckles.
So, what is she up to these days? “Currently, I am shooting for the Vijay Sethupathi-starrer Dharmadurai in Theni. I don’t have combination scenes with the other three heroines in the film. I am working with Vijay for the second time. I am quite excited because it’s a role sans make-up,” she says.
Speaking about her upcoming films, she says, “In Aarathu Sinam, I play Arulnidhi’s wife. It’s a homely character; and in Manithan, I essay a reporter.” Aishwarya adds that she will be off to Singapore soon for the film in which she’s paired up with Luthfudeen Baasha. “The entire story is set in Singapore and I play an architect. It’s a full-on comedy drama.” So how difficult is it to break into the industry? “There’s still a long road ahead. I still haven’t done it yet,” Surbhi concludes.
