We still hate pizza!'
Enough and more has been said about the real-life fairytale saga of the two Kaaka Muttai boys.
It’s been just over seven months since these pint-sized delights took over the world with a simple tale revolving around pizza, brotherhood, and everything in between. Enough and more has been said about the real-life fairytale saga of the two Kaaka Muttai boys, Ramesh and Vignesh, whose lives were changed irrevocably after the film’s release. But while the endearing feel-good memory around them still persists — what has happened to the teenagers since?
“Life has definitely changed a lot. Earlier, no one really cared to ask about me or what I wanted — now, all the kids want to be my friend! I’m recognised at many places I go to. Unfortunately, the ‘special treatment’ and praise only lasted for a little while in school… now the teachers have gone back to scolding me!” grins ‘Chinna’ Kaaka Muttai, Ramesh, who is 13 now. (but still looks like a kindergartner!
What about news on the film front? Surely, we’ll get to see them on screen again? Replies 15-year-old Vignesh, “Yes, I’m, currently working in a movie by Samuthirakani, while Ramesh plays the role of a younger Raghava Lawrence in another film. We are both trying to balance our work with education -— the latter is our priority. My dream is to pass out of college with a degree; now that we have this opportunity, we can’t let it slip.”
And their friendship that’s still going strong is an absolute treat to watch. “We both make it a point to keep in touch often. When you go through an experience like Kaaka Muttai together, it ensures the bond sticks! We would love to act together again, but it has been confirmed by our director there will not be a Kaaka Muttai sequel. So we’ll wait for a good script,” adds Vignesh. Of course, we have to ask them the most important question of all — do they actually hate pizza? “Absolutely! Yuck, I still feel like puking when I think of it!” Ramesh laughs, as Vignesh nods approvingly at his friend’s reaction.
