Vijayawada: An additional district court here on Tuesday granted bail to the main accused, Satish Kumar, in the recent case of stone-pelting on Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy.

Satish Kumar’s counsel Abdus Saleem argued that the statement of the accused in the police custody cannot be considered as evidence, as per Article 20 (3). The accused was innocent and the police implicated him in the case, he argued.

The public prosecutor stressed that the main accused attacked the CM. After hearing both the parties, the court granted bail to the main accused and directed him to cooperate with the police in the investigations. He must appear before the SHO of Ajith Singh Nagar police station on every Saturday and Sunday between 10 am and 5 pm.
