Im a tea'totaler
John Anthony- dancer, choreographer, teacher of a dance academy, has put India on the global map of Latin dancing.
1. If you weren’t a dancer what would you be doing?
I don’t think there’s anything more interesting than dance that I would have been doing. I have always been into travelling, and I did my MBA in Travel. So, I guess I would have been a corporate travels, which doesn’t sounds fascinating at all!
2. Eternal youth or fat wallet?
I have always believed in living a meaningful life, I think my life has been an example of not running after money. So, I’d choose neither and live my life to the full!
3.The first thing you would pick if you have to make a choice in 10 seconds?
It would be dance, I would pick dance and my career in it anytime, all over again if I have to.
4. What comes first? Chicken or egg? A song on repeat?
I love latin music, so many Bachata music is my song on repeat! All the time!!
5. Tell us about a date gone real bad ?
A year back, I was dating this Russian girl and happened to take her to a club in the city which she was quite finicky about. Even though, I tried making the most of our time and ordered some food for the both of us and went to the bathroom but as soon as I returned she was nowhere to be found and left without saying anything! I don’t think any date can go any worse than that. Hehe!
6. Dance to you is? How would you explain this to your grandmother?
Dance is like breathing for me, my entire life is surrounded by it. If it were not for dance, I would still be the introvert guy that I used to be and very afraid of the stage. Dance is everything for me!
7. Pet peeve?
The fact that people think that it’s necessary to drink in my profession or as an artiste! I’m a teetotaller, so I hate it when people sort of judge me for not drinking!
8. 8 An onstage blooper?
Not that I could think of!
9. A trait about you that people like?
People love my honestly, they call me a ‘no grey person’ cause its always either black or white for me.
10. A compliment that you never understood?
I’ve had many people come up to me and tell me I look really good when I smile but I never understood if it was really true looking at myself in the mirror.
