Kerala: Over dozen prizes offered in Mime
Colourful varied costumes and the acrobatics of the participants retained a sizeable audience at the venue throughout.
Adimali: It really came as a bolt from the blue for those who were creating trouble at the CBSE state youth fest venue over judgment in contests. When the results of mime common category came, there were three first prize winners, eight second prize winners and two third prize winners. Many turned speechless over the verdict and the organisers said the marks of three different judges were tabulated at the venue itself and the results declared then and there to avoid any complaints over judgments.
But some of the trainers complained that the judges did not have any idea about the art form. It was also said that a few trainers had trained several teams which reflected in same themes repeating with many teams. One major theme presented was the stray dog menace in the state while the fall in the prices of farm produce and farmers' suicide, life in mental hospitals and bar bribery case too became themes for the mime. Colourful varied costumes and the acrobatics of the participants retained a sizeable audience at the venue throughout. There were over thirty participants in the event from different Sahodayas.
