Designer Rahul Mishra presents MEMORY

FDCI LMIFW AW19 witnessed 10 years of Designer Rahul Mishra: Retrospection, metamorphosis and reinvention, through his collections.

New Delhi: The collection of Designer Rahul Mishra was a beautiful rendition of his decade long journey, which began with the exploration of the most important reality of life – metamorphosis.

According to the designer, metamorphosis has been a continuous process for him. Rahul through his collections has always tried to build a craft based lineage that empowers the artisans. This lineage is a tribute to the universal DNA that has created a kaleidoscope lineage for the thriving spices on the planet.

Embroidery work appeals the designer and his collections bear testimony to this. His collection at the Lotus make-up India Fashion Week AW 19, reminisced Rahul’s 10 Paris Fashion Week collections, which had given him the privilege to showcase the best of Indian handcrafts on an International platform.

The collection included an array of fabrics and techniques ranging from gossamer tulle, organza, and plush velvets.  The collection also comprised of traditional aari wok with resham threads, French knots inspired by pointillism art.

The collections highlighted an amalgam of the Eastern mysticism with the meticulousness of the West. This overlap was to highlight that the “world shares common ideas of timeless intricacy and elegance in fashion.”

Through this collection designer Rahul Mishra shared the message that is very close to his heart: “coming full circle and returning to the source is a celebration of our roots and a testament to our ever-evolving aesthetics.”
