What you eat can hurt or help your chances of getting pregnant, Harvard University researchers reveal in a review published in the American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Over the past few years, researchers have been finding more evidence of associations between food and fertility.

In a report by the Daily Mail, experts reveals what foods you should add to your diet to increase your chances of getting pregnant for men and women.

1 Salmon: has been shown to help the blood to flow to reproductive organs. It also helps regulate hormones and promote ovulation.

Alternative:  Nuts, seeds, eggs and lentils.

2. Spinach: high in a folate, a B vitamin that increases rate of ovulation. It helps to naturally increase a woman's libido.

Alternative: Romaine lettuce, swiss chard and arugula.

3. Whole grains: contains B9 (folic acid) and B12, B vitamins required for fertility.

4. Beans: are good for fertility because they are source of fiber, protein and rich in folate

5. Dark chocolate: increases semen quality. The antioxidants in it also help good blood circulation needed when trying to conceive.

Experts also warn to stay away from soy-based foods, Fried foods and soda.
