It’s been a common conception for a long time that the best things in life are free, but in times of rampant commercialisation of everything that gives joy to people, the most intimate moments in life and even commodities essential for life seem to be getting expensive.

Childbirth is a special experience for every mother and what’s even more delightful in that moment is holding her new born child and welcoming the baby to the world. But it’s both heartbreaking and outrageous to realise that even such simple joys in life are now being commercialised by those supposed to care for people.

While healthcare being too expensive and even out of reach for many, a hospital in USA thought it will be a good idea to charge a woman  $39.35 or Rs 2600  for “Skin to Skin” contact after a C Section, which means letting her hold her own child.

The hospital just came up with a charge for it and mentioned that on the bill, which goes on to reflect a sorry state of affairs when it comes to affordable healthcare.
