Eye screening from August 15 in Telangana

The eye screening camps will test the vision, provide spectacles free of cost and also refer the acute cases to secondary and tertiary sectors.

Hyderabad: A universal eye screening for vision problems in the entire population of the state will be launched from August 15 by the Telangana state government. To ensure that avoidable blindness is tackled by detecting on time, the government has planned to carry out the programme from August to January, 2019. The eye screening camps will test the vision, provide spectacles free of cost and also refer the acute cases to secondary and tertiary sectors.
