Bengaluru: Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone has observed that anyone can fall prey to depression at anytime and the only solution available is extending unconditional love and care.

She was speaking at the World Health Day celebration organised by the state health department here on Saturday. The theme of this year is ‘Let’s talk depression’.

“Anyone who is living in urban or rural area or of any age group may face depression. We need to help the affected people by not showing any prejudices or discrimination,” she said.

“I have also suffered depression. We need to ask people around us. We need to keep our conversations alive. Let us make people suffering from depression comfortable, loved. Let us stand with them. Let us not shame anyone,” she added.

“Live Love Laugh Foundation is working towards sensitizing the issues related to mental health,” she said. State Health Minister Ramesh Kumar, Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister H.N. Ananth Kumar and other dignitaries were also present.
