7 ways to get rid of adult acne
Women are more prone to be affected by it than men.
Acne can be tough to deal with as an adult. Research has found it is five times more likely to affect women than men.
Fluctuating pregnancy hormones, period and methods of contraception are big contributing factors.
Here are some ways you can treat the skin issue, according to The Sun.
1 Try alternative contraceptive pills: Dianette, is a pill often prescribed to women with severe acne. However, it contains an anti-androgen called cyproterone acetate.
2 Switch to a different face wash: Some face wash products could dry your skin and land up over-compensating with the moisturiser and cause it to become greasy.
3 Try Silver Serum: It contains an anti-bacterial agent that is often used to treat infected skin ulcers.
4 Avoid touching your face: Throughout the day, your hand comes in contact with a lot of germs, which you transfer to you face with your fingertips. So keep your hands clean.
5 Ingredients in your make-up could be the cause: Some makeup products thick or solid could make you prone to acne. It is important to learn what goes into making it.
6 Cleanse your sebum: It is a substance that goes away when it is contaminated with external bacteria or dirt on the skin. This leads your pores to get blocked, puss, or even cause inflammation.
7 Consult with your doctor: If it persists, you should consult with a GP, as the acne could be something else like polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), which needs to be further investigated.
