Doctors at Mexico General Hospital were surprised when a 24-year-old woman came to them with a massive ovarian cyst. The cyst believed to be the world’s largest was removed by the doctors as a whole and without draining the liquid.

According to a media report, the doctors tested the woman and found the cyst after the woman realised that she was gaining weight rapidly even though she was on a diet. Dr Erik Hanson Viana at the Mexico General Hospital performed the pioneering surgery where he removed the cyst weighed almost as much as ten babies. The cyst which had grown for almost 11 months risked the woman’s internal organs as it was crushing the organs and there was a high chance of heart failure, if she hadn’t to come in time.

The Mexican woman can now walk about and is reported to be back to normal. The operation which was conducted last year was only reported now, six months later.
