Keralamkundu makes it to national adventure tourism destinations list
The Tourism department developed the spot at a cost of Rs one crore and it was inaugurated in January this year.
MALAPPURAM: The Keralamkundu waterfalls that attracted a whopping 35,000 visitors in six months since its inauguration, has made it to the list of adventure tourism destinations in the country. Keralamkundu falls is the first tourist destination in the district to be included in the list of national adventure tourism spots, says V. Ummer Koya, secretary of the District Tourim Promotion Council.
The Tourism department developed the spot at a cost of Rs one crore and it was inaugurated in January this year. The DTPC has plans to develop more facilities at the spot. Glass bridge, rock climbing, Burma bridge and commando net will also be set up near the waterfalls within four months with public private partnership, he said. The Keralamkundu falls is situated in the valley of Kumbanmala, 1350 ft above sea level, in Karuvarankundu around 35 kilometers from Malappuram town.
