Survive first day in college

First day in college can be scary, nevertheless, think of it as a beautiful time. It’s the beginning of making new friends, experiencing independence, discovering oneself and learning life lessons. 

You will be expected to complete joining formalities which might include filling up forms, submitting documents and attending an orientation session. That feeling of anxiety is totally normal. Know that everybody is nervous the first day.

Wear something simple and smile, that will make you feel at ease with your own self and put others at ease. You are going to meet a number of people, so introduce yourself smartly. 

Do not sit by yourself, move towards any random classmate or a group and start a conversation. Likewise if you see someone sitting alone, invite them to sit beside you or join the gang. Go around meeting professors, teaching and non teaching staff and introduce yourself. It is a good idea to explore the campus. Do not forget to note your time table and check out your course books in the library.
