It's News' Year for Devagirians
The students of Devagiri St Joseph's College, brought out an online newsletter Devadhwani', featuring their creative writings.
This New Year, a group of students from Devagiri St Joseph’s College, Kozhikode, gave a unique gift to their college and friends — an online newsletter ‘Devadhwani’ which features college news, news alerts and creative writings from students. The e-paper devadhwanionline.com also has space to felicitate achievers from the college in both academic and extra-curricular performances.
“Earlier, a newsletter with the same name was launched two years back. Based on that, we went for an online newsletter to give a surprise to our college mates. So through social media sites, we created an air of suspense and everyone was eager to see what exactly we were gonna give them. When we launched the online newsletter on January 1 evening, it got tremendous response from our friends which is indeed very inspirational,” said Tojo Sebastian, editor of the online newsletter.
Devadhwani’s first edition features food recipes, movie review, poems, reports on departmental programmes, sports etc. A nano tale competition and photography competition are also happening. “We will update the website every month. We are also conducting some competitions for students; the winner will be announced on our Facebook page and the will be notified through e-mail. They will also win exciting prizes,” adds Tojo.
Ajay S., Sandra Ann Alex, Ashwathi, Keerthana Sasidharan, Abhinand Krishnan, Jyothis Mathew, Ashfaq Jafar, Ann George, Elsa Sherry and Nabeel Basheer are the other members behind this newsletter. Apart from the regular college news, students can also contribute their bit in the form of creative writings and photos by sending it to devadhwanionline@gmail.com.
