Comedian Biswa Kalyan talks about depression after Bengaluru youth's suicide

The suicide of a 23-year-old in Mumbai after shooting a live video shot moments before he jumped to his death has shocked everyone as social media was abuzz with the appalling news and reports of the boy struggling with depression emerged.

The tragedy has once again highlighted the need to have a conversation about depression and take mental health seriously. Among others, stand up comic Biswa Kalyan Rath addressed young people with a Facebook post about his life and times when he felt like a failure.

He talked about lack of academic performance and problems in launching a career, but told followers how failing at things isn’t the end of life and that failure can also come as an opportunity to learn and start afresh.

He also urged people to talk to people who came across as behaving odd and mentioned how asking for help is fine. He concluded by strongly advising young people against using drugs.
