Vadakara Riders to promote cycling among school goers
Recently, the team conducted 'moonlight ride' from Vadakara to Kannur and back on March 31.
KOZHIKODE: Vadakara Riders, a group of cycle enthusiasts of Vadakara, is reaching out to public to promote cycling by taking classes to schools students on the health benefits of the cycling and promoting it as a non-polluting mode of transportation. Recently, the team conducted 'moonlight ride' from Vadakara to Kannur and back on March 31. And they got a VIP companion en route. Kannur district collector Mir Muhammad Ali, a known passionate cyclists joined the team at 1 am in Kannur and pedalled with them for an hour.
"When we came to know about Collector's passion for cycling, we approached him and he readily agreed," said Sreejeesh S.G, joint secretary of Vadakara Riders. The 15-member team started from Vadakara around 9 pm and reached Kannur at 1 am on March 31. Prasun C.B, Prasobh, Sibi Peetakandy, Sajeesh, Rajeesh Babu, Harish and Imran are the members of Vadakara riders. Prasoon is the president of Vadakara Riders.
