Ex-Cricketer drives Rahul Gandhi around
Former Hyderabad cricketer Kaushik Reddy drove Rahul Gandhi to Sangareddy on the latter's visit to the city.
Kaushik, a close aide of Rahul Gandhi says that this is his fourth time driving the Congress leader around.
Cherishing the journey of driving Rahul to Sangareddy, he says, “I got close to Rahul in 2014, and since then, whenever he visits the city, I drive him around. We are good friends and we know each other well. He likes me because I was a cricketer too. He comes across as a cool and a humble guy.”
“Rahul was asking about Haleem and Biryani,” Kaushik continues. “Since there was little time, we had the food packed from a restaurant. In fact, even the security guys from SPG Group were asking for Biryani.”
“He was keen to know more on why I left cricket. I told him that Suresh Raina, Dinesh Karthik, Vinay Kumar, Ravi Chandran Ashwin, etc., were my colleagues from the U-13 level. I said that if I hadn’t played the ICL, I would have been part of my National team, but since I always wanted to serve people I joined politics instead,” adds Kaushik, who happens to be the cousin of Uttam Kumar Reddy, TPCC chief.
