A young woman who thought her expanding waistline was due to the contentment she felt with her boyfriend was in for a rude shock when she was struck down with what she thought was appendicitis.
The 23-year-old Robyn Bailey went to the doctor with the suspected appendicitis only to discover that she was giving birth to a baby she did not know she was carrying.
As The Sun reported, neither Robyn or her partner Luke Darvill from Haverfill, Suffolk, had any idea that they were soon to be come parents and even had a huge row over fried chickens before the arrival of their baby daugfhter.
Robyn who had though it was just relationship weight said that she thought she had an accident when her water broke unexpectedly and Like thought his girlfriend had soiled herself and asked her to clean herself up.
But Robyn could not sleep and was in agony. It was then she called a helpline and the person on the other side said she might be pregnant.
The next morning, still in pain, the couple went to their GP and, told she was expecting a baby any minute.
The doctors told her that she was potentially overdue – and 2cm dilated.
Her daughter Daisy arrived a day later, a day after her mum discovered she was pregnant.
Daisy would later go on to have twelve hours of surgery on her tiny heart because she was born with two holes in them. The child is is still under the care of cardiology at GOSH.
