Choosing the right way of life
Deepti Pathak discovered that her true strength lies in motivating and nurturing people.
We live in a world that is strange to some extent, in terms of finding a balance between positive and negative ways of life. The two key words to tackle everyday life are negativity and positivity. It is up to us what to choose. Deepti Pathak, corporate coach and motivational speaker, feels that it’s not people’s background that makes them successful. It is their psychology. It is their mindset. Because going from impossible to possible, and from I can’t to I can and I will, is just a science, according to her.
“When we are young, we have this innate ability to dream big and we all possess this uncontainable zest for life. However, over time our dreams become smaller, if not entirely disappear and we lose the true essence of what it means to live fully, and not merely exist! I am always looking for a better life and this motivates me to keep discovering new and enriching possibilities,” she says. The 33-year-old entrepreneur holds the rare ability to electrify an audience while delivering a highly engaging, insightful and real power talk that leads to individuals seeing their lives in a new light, feeling a strong sense of inspiration and taking with them life-transforming concepts that ring in their ears and reflect in their daily lives in the years to come.
On a light note, she shared some facts regarding her likes and dislikes. “I am a fitness enthusiast, so continuously exploring new forms of physical activities always excites me. I enjoy travelling to a new destination every year. My favourite city in the world is London. London is the quintessential melting pot of people and cultures. I love London for how beautifully it is steeped in history while being a beacon of progress and a metropolis at the same time. And if you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life, all you need is a short flight to Scotland,” she opines.
Her hoteliering career gave her the opportunity to manage a team of over 60 associates at the young age of 26, and this is when she discovered that her true strength lies in motivating and nurturing people to be the best versions of themselves. With each passing year in her corporate career, she came across several people dealing with anxiety and frustration in their professional lives.
“One of the key skills needed to balance one’s life is discipline and self-discipline begins with achieving mastery over your thoughts. If you don’t control what you think, you can’t control what you do. Self-discipline is the only skill one needs to develop any other skill. And continuous learning and mastery in this skill have helped me find balance in all aspects of life,” opines Pathak.
Her vision is to see herself standing on a stage in the middle of an arena packed with people, conducting one of the largest live seminars on personal mastery in the history of the country. “I want to play a role in making India rank much higher up on the global happiness index and lead my fellow Indians towards living a truly blissful life,” she reveals.
Signing off, she says, “My biggest source of inspiration is my father, who has been a single parent to my brother and me for most of our lives. He successfully managed a demanding medical practice while juggling through the challenges of parenthood single-handedly and I can proudly say that I have never met a happier, more contented guy in my life. He raised me to believe that life is a celebration and that happiness is just a state of mind.”
