Celebs are human too and have their favourite role models whom they clearly idolise.

The Internet exploded when Barack Obama’s daughter Sasha was seen talking to Ryan Reynolds at a state dinner and her sister Malia was seen giving her a thumbs-up. Closer home, Abhishek Bachchan, Ali Zafar, Akshay Kumar and Parineeti Chopra were all grins like Cheshire cats as they stuck together in a frame with Matthew McConaughey and Salma Hayek — something that warmed a lot of hearts. So it’s not unusual for celebrities to freak out over famous people.

While Akshay captioned his picture with Hayek, ‘Selfie of a lifetime’, Parineeti wasn’t too pleased with her fellow Bollywood stars for photo bombing her picture with the Oscar-winning McConaughey in what she thought was ‘Rab ne bana di jodi’. Bollywood is in fact full of fan boy/girl tales. In an earlier interview, Shahid Kapoor admitted to freezing on an elevator upon Sachin Tendulkar walking in. When he turned around and greeted him, all the Haider star could say was, ‘Hi sir, I’m a really big fan.’ Stars have often obliged their celeb fans too. For instance, when ace badminton player Saina Nehwal expressed her desire to meet Shah Rukh Khan, the superstar caught up with her during a shoot. Actor Kriti Sanon recounted her own star-struck moment. “I’ve been a huge fan of Shah Rukh Khan. It is said that one shouldn’t meet their idol in person, otherwise that whole aura goes away, so I was quite skeptical when I was to meet him. But after our meeting, my respect and love for him multiplied manifold as he is such a wonderful person. He’s so passionate about his work and I’m really fortunate to have worked with him in Dilwale.”

Hollywood isn’t far behind on this trend either. Ariana Grande explained how she felt on meeting Bruno Mars. ‘Someone sang ‘I Love The Way You Are’ in the hallway, I turn around it’s @BrunoMars. My organs fell out. I’m a corpse. I’m dead. He’s so nice,’ she tweeted from the MTV EMAs. Who can forget Jennifer Lawrence running away from one of her idols, Jeff Bridges at a Comic Con? If you don’t know what we’re on about, the million memes and gifs on the Internet will surely jog your memory. All this goes to say that celebrities are just like us — giggles, greets and all.
