What inspired you to take up dancing?
I felt it was the most convenient thing to teach, and it was a way to earn pocket money too. But apart from money, there was a passion in me to teach and do something creative.
How would you describe your journey?
I would describe it as organic.
Was there any criticism early on?
It was mostly positive criticism, when my teachers pointed out my inadequate practice and lack of technique. I also indulge in self criticism.
How different is it being a judge to being judged?
I feel it is much easier to be a judge. The pressure is crazy when you are on the stage.
Any other hobbies?
I love to read, and write stories. I enjoy indulging in them more than watching mainstream television shows. I love Bollywood classics and black and white movies.
A famous personality with whom you would like to share the stage?
I would love to share the stage with fellow choreographer Kyle Hanagami.
Any embarrassing moment on stage?
I cannot recall any, though wardrobe malfunctions are a great concern. It makes me tense and can affect my performance too.
A special place to travel?
I make the most of my international tours when I travel teaching dance. Slovenia is one place which brings back a lot of good memories. It was stunning and beautiful, and the food was the best part of the country.
A morning person or night owl?
I am absolutely a morning person. It is refreshing to wake up early.
A sport or game that you follow?
I don’t follow any games as such but I enjoy playing football occasionally.
