12-year-old threatened with jail time, for building pillow fort in store
Hatcher was banned from New Zealand store for two years and warned if he broke the order he would be jailed for a period of three months.
In a bizarre and funny incident, a 12-year-old youngster was given a trespass notice and threated of being put behind bars when he was caught building a pillow fort in the shop premises.
The boy, Kyan Hatcher, was banned from the New Zealand store for two years and warned that if he broke the order he would be jailed for a period of three months.
However, The Warehouse (name of the store), has since backed down on the notice with a spokesperson coming forward to say that the particular incident could have been handled better.
According to a story published in The Sun, Johanna Hatcher, the mum of the 12-year-old spoke to Stuff.co.uk and said that it was a ridiculous incident as he was not stealing anything. According to her, Kyan was just being a kid and being creative.
She said her son felt terrible over what had happened.
Apparently, the young boy had been making pillow forts with friends at the Auckland store where the store cameras had filmed the entire game.
The next time Kyan went to the store with his dad a few weeks later, he was issued with the trespass notice.
