Kalki Subramaniam – a transgender writer, activist, media personality, and actor – is all set to take her message to an even bigger platform after Harvard invited her as a speaker. She will be among the panel members who have been requested to speak at the two-day India Conference organised by Harvard Business School and Harvard Kennedy School.

Over there she hopes to talk about how the historical trans rights movement also has a spiritual context, according to media reports. Kalki also wants to explain how the trans rights movement in India is different from its counterpart in the West.

Kalki is the founder of the Sahodari Foundation which aims to empower transgender people in the country.
