Mumbai youngsters create world record in skating

The feat has been achieved by Coach Rishi Sarode and 12 children from his institution.

The skating record comprised of two parts where 11 children were engaged in zig zag roller skating while dribbling a basketball whereas one youngster Jash Sarode did inline skating with hoola hoop while he was blindfolded.

Mumbai: Roll Models Skaters and Ample Mission came together and made it possible for a new world record to be achieved on December 22 in Mumbai.

The skating record comprised of two parts – where 11 children were engaged in zig zag roller skating while dribbling a basketball whereas one youngster Jash Sarode did inline skating with hoola hoop while he was blindfolded.

This made him the only one youngster to have accomplished this till date for the first time in skating.

Rishi Sarode, founder and director, Roll Models Skaters, has been skating for last the 34 years and has represented India numerous times around the world, creating several world records.

Speaking on the occasion Rishi said, “I am very proud and happy that my students have today achieved what no one else has so far and happy as I know the amount of dedication and passion it took these little ones to put in practice, has finally paid off.”

Dr.Aneel Kashi Murarka from Ample Missiion, an organisation which has been effectively working towards creating a difference in the society by their contribution to social causes added, “I feel so proud and emotional seeing these youngsters achieving this record today. This motivates us further to do more and be able to reach out to as many children who need support in sport.”
