Homeless people in tattered clothes, sleeping on pavements and shivering in the cold will make one’s heart bleed. To provide comfort to them, students of St Francis College have arranged drop boxes across their campus where clothes, blankets, groceries and other necessities can be dropped in. The donations are going to various orphanages and old age homes, and will be distributed till new Year’s Eve.

The brainchild of the Bachelor of Management Studies (BMS) student club of the College, project ARISTA was a part of their social outreach initiative. The students have collaborated with another city-based student-backed initiative, Project Warmth. Raghav, a BBA student at IBS-ICFAI and Anushree, a law student from Symbiosis Law School in Pune were friends before they came together to create something magical for others. Joining them on this cause, Pooja, a student of BMS and head of ARISTA club says, “Even after I graduate, I would continue my efforts to help people.” Muskaan, another teammate, explains the process, “I and Anushree are school friends and when she told me about this, I thought it would be a perfect for the teams to get together. We have put up posters across the campus to spread the news and the response has been amazing.”

Kreethika, a member of ARISTA says, “The feeling of satisfaction by seeing people smile is what makes all the effort count.”
