It seems that Game of Thrones is not the only place where people and species are coming together to fight a bigger force. Hurricane Harvey sure seems to have brought species together in their quest for survival. A hawk became an unlikely sidekick to a cab driver from Texas when it sought refuge inside the man’s vehicle and refused to leave.

William Bruso said that he was stocking up on supplies on Friday ahead of the storm and when he returned he found the bird sitting on his passenger seat.

Documenting the entire thing in YouTube videos, Bruso can be seen saying, “He looks like he’s scared. He doesn’t know what’s going on.” He goes on to add, “He just kind of hopped on in and doesn’t want to leave. I’m not sure what to make of it.”

Bruso apparently tried shooing the hawk away but the bird just would not leave. Videos later showed the bird to be perched on the door of the parked car, still refusing to fly away. Bruso had to finally take the bird inside and give it chicken hearts to snack on.

The flying refugee was soon named ““Harvey the Hurricane Hawk” from Bruso ― as well as a flock of concerned and curious fans.

Harvey stayed in Bruso’s home overnight, but a worker with the Texas Wildlife Rehab Coalition was seen scooping the bird up on Saturday and taking it to a shelter for professional care.
