New Delhi: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi announced that if the I.N.D.I.A. bloc comes to power, it will ensure one year of assured jobs for youths completing graduation under the 'Pehli Naukri Pakki Adhikar' programme. He also promised a guaranteed Minimum Support Price (MSP) for crops and a farm loan waiver if his party assumes power at the Centre.

Gandhi stated that poor families would receive Rs 1 lakh every year until they are brought above the poverty line. Additionally, he pledged to fill 30 lakh vacancies in government departments to provide jobs for unemployed youths across the country.

Speaking at an election rally in Nahan, located in Himachal Pradesh's Sirmaur district, Gandhi accused Prime Minister Modi of attempting to "steal" the state's elected government instead of assisting the hilly region. His remarks followed allegations by Modi about the wrongful distribution of Central flood aid by the Congress government in Himachal Pradesh and a promise of action.

Gandhi was campaigning for Congress candidate Vinod Sultanpuri from the Shimla (SC) Parliamentary constituency. He claimed that the share prices of Adani-owned companies rise whenever Narendra Modi is sworn in, suggesting that the current government has only fulfilled the dreams of a select 22 people, while the rest of the country remains mere spectators.

“Prime Minister Narendra Modi waived loans worth Rs 16 lakh crore for 22 individuals over the last 10 years but could not allocate Rs 9,000 crore to address the disaster caused by monsoon rains in Himachal Pradesh last year,” Gandhi criticized.

Taking a jab at Modi, Gandhi said, “The PM says God makes him do things. Maybe God wants Modi to help Adani.”
