AIADMK Could Not Even Hold a Condolence for Jaya
Chennai:State Law Minister S Regupathy slammed the AIADMK for the resolutions that it passed against the DMK government at the Executive Committee meeting and the statements made by its leaders, justifying the release of the currency coin commemorating the centenary of M Karunanidhi.
Speaking to the media at Nagapattinam on Friday, the Law Minister said the DMK had no need to paste 'stickers' on schemes launched by the AIADMK and appropriate them as their own as it was alleged by the AIADMK leaders.
Clarifying that the Amma Pharmacy launched by the AIADMK government and the proposed Chief Minister Pharmacy of the DMK government were not the same, the Minister said that Amma Pharmacies sold only branded medicines and were run by cooperatives.
Chief Minister Pharmacies, announced by Chief Minister M K Stalin, on Independence Day would dispense generic drugs and that those with D Pharm and B Pharm degrees would be encouraged to start their own businesses with the government extending subsidies, he said.
Accusing the AIADMK of being a slave of the BJP, doing only the bidding of the national party, Regupathy said that there was nothing wrong in bringing out the commemorative coin on the occasion of the centenary of Karunanidhi.
The AIADMK leaders could not hold even a condolence meeting by inviting all-India leaders after the passing of J Jayalalithaa, he said, adding that they were only striving to protect their government at that time.
Referring to the allegation of Law and Order deterioration in the State, he said that Tamil Nadu scored 95.47 points and was at the top while Mizoram and Telangana came second and third in the list. He also pointed out that Mizoram’ population was 11 lakh and Telangana’s 4 crore, it was 8 crore for Tamil Nadu.
