RAIPUR: A viral video showed a unique protest by a youth in Bilaspur in Chhattisgarh in which he was seen offering groundnuts to a senior officer of the local branch of the state housing board to improve her memory to find out a ‘missing’ file, that purportedly addressed his plea.

In the video, the youth, identified as Toran Sahoo, was seen barging into the official chamber of assistant manager of the Bilaspur branch of the board Poonam Banjare and then spilling a bag of groundnuts on her table, leaving her puzzled and stunned.

Sahoo was then heard recommending to the officer to consume the groundnuts to sharpen her memory so that she will be able to locate the ‘missing’ file which purportedly cleared his application seeking to transfer the ownership of a flat, he has purchased, in his name.

He was also heard in the clip explaining that he had purchased a flat, allotted to a beneficiary of the scheme for the economically weaker section (EWS) by the state housing board, and did the registration of the deal, as per the rule.

He then applied for the transfer of ownership of the flat in his name, to the board around a year ago.

He was heard in the clip alleging that he had been visiting the office for the last seven months to know the fate of his application.

He had been turned back every time with the plea that his work was done but the file was missing and efforts were being made to trace the file, he was heard saying in the video.

“That’s why I offered groundnuts to the officer and suggested she improve her memory by consuming them to recollect where the file has been kept and then call me”, he was heard saying in the video.

The incident occurred on Friday.

The officer meanwhile lodged a complaint to her higher authority seeking action against Sahoo for unauthorizedly entering her chamber and ‘misbehaving’ with her.
