Hyderabad: In response to an emerging cyber threat, the Hyderabad cybercrime police have issued an alert urging the public to be vigilant when opening messages related to the Ayodhya Ram Mandir ceremony scheduled for January 22, with a special caution for messages promising "Live photos of Ayodhya."

The potential risks associated with these links include unauthorised access to mobile phones and the compromising of bank accounts. Hyderabad cybercrime ACP R.G. Siva Maruthi said.

Cyber expert Anil Rachamalla outlined three common tactics employed by scammers in such situations: Sending dubious links with attractive subjects to mobile phones and fraudulent QR codes for donations.
