 Visakhapatnam:A chilling string of robberies and thefts perpetrated by a couple came to an end today as the Mahila Court-cum- 6th Additional District Sessions Judge in Visakhapatnam and the Third Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate of Gajuwaka delivered their verdicts.

Gollapalli Naga Malleswara Rao, 37, and M. Ramalakshmi, 31, were each sentenced to life imprisonment and fined Rs. 1,000 for their crimes. The couple, who employed the alias "Bangaru," instilled fear throughout the city, their crimes spanning multiple jurisdictions and leaving a trail of stolen valuables.

Their modus operandi involved posing as potential tenants, renting houses, and then ruthlessly robbing the occupants of their gold belongings. Their activities came to light after separate incidents were reported at the Arilova and Newport police stations, prompting a thorough investigation that ultimately brought them to justice.
