TSPSC paper leak: Remore sharing application used, says SIT

 Hyderabad: The Hyderabad police special investigation team (SIT) probing the TSPSC question paper leak scam has seized a few more computers from the commission’s confidential section, from where the question papers were procured by the main accused P. Praveen Kumar and A. Rajashekar.

The police had earlier seized some computers including those belonging to confidential section incharge Shankara Lakshmi and devices belonging to the accused.

Sources said the computers were seized based on the evidence found during the custodial questioning of the accused, and sent for forensic analysis.

Officials have found that the duo had shared the Group I prelims question paper to other candidates, who have also been arrested in the case, as they were friends. Prima facie the probe did not indicate any cash transactions to have happened between them for sharing the question paper, it was claimed in the backdrop of the Enforcement Directorate moving to probe the question paper leak scam for money laundering.

The accused used ‘AnyDesk’ remote access application to share the question paper to other accused Shameem, Suresh and Ramesh and to Rajashekar’s brother-in-law Prashanth Reddy, a software professional in New Zealand.

The SIT found that the accused did not use Whatsapp or share copies of the question paper physically to other candidates, as they were afraid it might expose them and also leave a digital footprint, leaving behind clues. To avoid these issues and for a quick transfer, they have adapted AnyDesk application.

SIT has also seized laptops of Shameem, Suresh and Ramesh and sent them for forensic analysis. “ We are awaiting FSL report of the devices sent for forensic analysis in the beginning. That might reveal more information about if the question paper was shared to more people,” SIT said.
