KOZHIKODE: Koduvally police is yet to arrest the accused in the gang rape of a homemaker in Pannur near here. Circle inspector P. Chandramohan said more missing links have to be connected to arrest the accused and there are many contradictions in the victim's statements.

The woman complained that a distant relative of her husband took her to a room on top of a supermarket on January 30 on the pretext of settling some issues she had with her husband. However, he did not let her go and instead forced her to drink alcohol. Later four other men also joined him and all of them raped her.

According to the complaint, she was taken to the room around 10 am and released next day 10 am. However, the police said that the room she claimed to have been locked up does not have an attached bathroom and the building is situated in a crowded area.

“There is a supermarket on the ground floor of the building and the employees including women there have not seen either this woman or the accused. The victim’s statements will be re-recorded on Tuesday as the complaint has many contradictions,” the CI told DC. All the five accused are absconding, and they are not available over the phone also, said the police.
