Bareilly: Frustrated over being teased, an 18-year-old girl committed suicide in Rampura Bhood village here by setting herself on fire, police said on Friday.

The girl had complained to her family that a youth, identified as Ashutosh, of the same village had been sending her obscene messages on mobile and passing indecent remarks when she moved around in the village but as he belonged to a family of musclemen the girl's family could do little to confront them, they said.

The girl last night set herself afire after she received another such message. She was rushed to the district hospital where she succumbed to her injuries this morning, police added.
