Grief overcomes Sadashivpet village as 8 killed in mishap

Many people from the locality had gone to the AMR function hall on Medchal road in Kompally to attend a wedding reception.

Hyderabad: Sadashivpet village plunged into shock and grief after hearing about the tragedy at the ORR toll gate in Medchal. Many people from the locality had gone to the AMR function hall on Medchal road in Kompally to attend a wedding reception. But, the function came to a halt when they heard that eight people, including the bride’s younger brother Md Irfan, 17, were killed in the mishap.

Irfan’s sister’s wedding was solemnised on August 29 and the groom was from Medchal. The wedding reception was scheduled for Tuesday night. “Six of the victims were friends of Irfan and his brother Imran. The two brothers had invited them for the reception. Irfan got into the MUV with them while Imran was in another vehicle,” said Mohammed Khaleel, a resident of the village.
 Irfan’s elder brother Md Lateef could not control his tears. “They were all friends of Irfan and Imran,” said Lateef.

Four of the victims were engineering students, two degree students, and one was an Intermediate student Md Nishad Ali, 24, a final year engineering student of the Nizam Institute of Technology, was about to go to Gulf. “He wanted to take up a job there,” said Nishad’s relative Md. Afzal. The bodies were taken to Sadashivpet for the last rites after autopsy.
