Hyderabad: Snatcher arrested after two strikes

Hyderabad: A chain-snatcher wanted in two cases at Malkajgiri and Alwal was arrested by a Cyberabad police special team of the Cyberabad police. Police said the accused, C. Raj Manohar, 27, took is inspiration from the chain snatching videos on social media.
Police said he worked with a company that rents out bikes. Pet Basheerabad ACP A.V.R. Narasimha Rao said Manohar used to approach women senior citizens who were walking alone as if asking for directions, snatch their gold chain and flee on his motorcycle.
In the first case on August 7, he targeted a 57-year-old woman at Malkajgiri. He struck again on August 28, snatching a four-tola gold chain from a 60-year-old woman.
The investigators recovered the gold chains and handed them over to the owners and also seized the two-wheelers used to commit the crime.
