Speeding Car Mows Down 3 Labourers From Ranebennur in Jalsur

Mangaluru: Three people were killed and one seriously injured in an accident in Jalsur of Dakshina Kannada district on Thursday.

The accident occurred on Thursday morning when a group of laborers, originally hailing from Ranebennur in Haveri district, were standing near Karavali Hotel in Jalsur, of Sullia Taluk.

A speeding car veered and collided with the laborers. Four laborers- Chennappa, Rekhappa, Mahantappa, and Venkappa were injured in the incident. Among the four Chennappa, Rekhappa, and Mahantappa sustained critical injuries and were immediately shifted to Sullia government hospital.

Chennappa was pronounced dead by the medical authorities. Rekhappa and Mahantappa, while being transferred for treatment, succumbed to their injuries.

A case is filed under IPC sections 279, 337, 338, and 304 (A) at the Sullia Police Station.
