Tamil Nadu: Man saves 30 sovereigns from burglars by throwing it on loft
The bureau was ransacked and there were signs of intruders searching the entire house for valuables.
Chennai: A 60-year-old man on Friday managed to save his savings by wrapping 30 sovereigns of gold and cash Rs 50,000 in an old cloth and throwing it on the loft in his house, which saw a burglary attempt when he was away during day time.
The incident happened in the house of Sekhar, at Thillai Ganga Nagar in Adambakkam on Friday when he went to meet his daughter in Kovilambakkam. When he returned, he found his house broken in. The bureau was ransacked and there were signs of intruders searching the entire house for valuables.
However he was relieved to find his gold and cash were safe in old cloth in the loft. He later informed the police about the incident. A police team visited the scene and collected evidence.
