8-member burglar gang nabbed Rs 40 lakh worth valuables recovered

Khammam: Eight burglars were taken into custody in Khammam on Friday. Jewellery, silver items and other valuables worth Rs 40 lakh have been recovered from them.

Ellaboina Krishna, owner of Jnaneswari Jewelry, was arrested for buying these items from the gang.

According to commissioner of police Vishnu Warrior, eight persons belonging to Kagita Ramachandrapuram in Suryapet district and Mallepalli village under Kusumanchi mandal used to spend time together for enjoyment. Later, they formed a gang and started the burglary.

They did 27 burglaries in Khammam town and one in Suryapet. They were moving suspiciously in Mustafanagar and the central crime police detained them. Cops recovered 638 grams of ornaments, two kilos of silver, ten LED television sets and three gas cylinders. The worth of these was estimated at `40 lakh.

The arrested thieves were Nukamalla Nagendrababu, Pappula Rajkumar aka Pandu, Bade Nagendrababu, Mandala Ashok, Banala Mutyalu, Chintamalla Venkanna and Kulakulapalli Mahesh, a native of Kagita Ramachandrapuram in Suryapet district and Telagamalla Venkateswarlu from Mallepalli village under Kusumanchi mandal in Khammam district.

Nukamalla Nagendra Babi, who worked as a driver to a doctor in Khammam, left it and formed the gang with others. He was residing in Khammam and the gang members used to meet in his house. They burgled 15 houses in Khammam One Town Area, ten in Khanapuram Haveli, two in Khammam Two Town area and one in Ananthagiri in Suryapet district.
