Hyderabad: Businessman attacked by robbers dies

Hyderabad: A 76-year-old businessman succumbed to injuries after he was attacked by robbers who made away with his gold ornaments in the basement of a supermarket, Gopalapuram police said.

The victim, Chinna Chouwdry Anji Reddy, owner of GR Convention, was found unconscious in the B Block of the parking lot at 7.45 pm on Friday.

His relative, Ravi Devinaini, who noticed him lying unconscious with injuries on his right eye and face, in front of his car in the parking lot informed his family members. The family members who reached the scene said they found two gold rings and a gold chain missing from the victim.

Anji Reddy, a resident of Padmaraonagar, was rushed to Gandhi Hospital where doctors declared him dead. Police is checking CCTV camera footage as part of the investigation.
