Railway police rescue 5-year-old from kidnappers in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: Government Railway Protection Force (GRP) and Railway Protection Force (RPF) rescued a five-year-old boy, who is speech and hearing challenged, and arrested his kidnappers.

The child’s father, Mangali Durgesh, 36, a barber from Medak district, was returning from Tirumala. He left the child, Shiva Sai, on the platform and went to the washroom. When he returned, the boy was missing as also their luggage which had Durgesh’s phone. Durgesh immediately lodged a complaint, said Shaik Saleema, superintendent of Secunderabad railway police.

Railway police teams verified CCTV footage and found a couple outside the station carrying Shiva Sai and Durgesh’s luggage. Police tracked the couple through Durgesh’s SIM card, and arrested them near Cyber Towers. The duo, Khalivali Vikram, 41, and Shaik Rehana, 25, said they were tracking the child as they wanted to kidnap him and push him into begging.
