Hyderabad: Bank manager held for murder
Police arrested Krishnamurthy on Monday for abetting his wife's suicide and the murder of his brother-in-law.
Hyderabad: A chief manager of Indian Bank, Chennai, was arrested by the Meerpet police on Monday for allegedly murdering his brother-in-law T. Manikya Rao and abetting the suicide of his second wife T. Savitha Laxmi.
Police said Poduri Venkata Krishnamurthy had married Laxmi, 30, in 2011 and the couple had two children. Savitha also had a son from her first marriage, which was the cause of quarrells between the two Two months ago, after he got transferred to Chennai, the harassment increased. Unable to bear this, Savitha set herself on fire on Sunday and succumbed to burns on Friday.
After completing the funeral rites, Krishnamurthy and his brother-in-law Manikya Rao quarrelled over taking care of the children. Following this, Krishnamurthy hit Manikya Rao with a boulder when he was sleeping,” Meerpet inspector N. Ch Rangaswamy alleged.
