Delhi: Woman's body found under car with injury marks on throat

Locals are being questioned to know if they saw any suspicious activity in the area and efforts are on to ascertain the woman's identity.

New Delhi: The body of a woman, with injury marks on her throat, was found under a car at Pushp Vihar in Delhi on Wednesday, police said.

On receiving information that body of a woman was found under a car at the parking area of sector three Pushp Vihar near Khanpur T-point, police reached there and recovered it, a senior police officer said.

"The unidentified body has tattoos on the left and right wrists. It is estimated that she was around 23-years-old. She was wearing a pair of blue jeans and a black colour T-shirt," the officer said.

The body had injury marks inflicted with a sharp object on the throat. There were similar marks on her chin and left wrist too, she said.

A case under section 302 (punishment for murder) of IPC has been registered at Saket Police Station and further investigation is on, the officer said.

This is the second case of a woman's body being found in south district.

Last week, a headless and decomposed body of an unidentified woman, stuffed in a black plastic bag, was found inside the sewer of a four-storey building in south Delhi's Vasant Vihar area, police said.
