Andhra Pradesh cop arrested for fraud, robbery
Accused hired woman to impersonate wife.
Hyderabad: An Assistant Commandant of the Andhra Pradesh Special Police Ninth Battalion, P. Naga Durga Prasad, was arrested by the Bachupally police of Cyberabad for allegedly transferring the General Power of Attorney (GPA) for a land registered on his wife Saritha’s name without her knowledge and arranging another woman to impersonate her.
A case against Prasad, alias P.N.D Prasad, was first booked at Bachupally around four months ago when his wife Saritha complained that her husband had stolen land documents belonging to her and forged them with the help of another woman and changed the the GPA to his mother’s name. Further, he also managed to get the GPA transferred onto his name.
While the probe was ongoing, 10 days ago, the DSP rank officer went to one Reddy Prasad’s house in Nizampet, a businessman, and beat him before taking away his mobile phone.
The businessman had filed a complaint against the officer with the Tirupathi police for maintaining an extramarital affair with his wife.
Bachupally police said that two cases were booked against P.N.D Prasad: One on charges of theft, cheating and forgery based on his wife’s complaint and the second for robbing Reddy Prasad.
