Hyderabad: Unidentified persons broke into Telangana Grameena Bank at Adibhatla in the wee hours of Monday. The suspects dug a hole in the wall using crowbars. However, they could not lay their hands on the strong room and withdrew their mission. This is the second incident in the city in less than a month where a bank is targeted.

According to the police, the bank is located in an apartment in Rangannaguda village. On Monday morning, when the bank was opened, a hole was found on the wall and the police was alerted.

The police found that the suspects first broke open the lock of the apartment and dug a hole in the wall. As they could not access the strong room, they withdrew and fled. The bank has CCTVs inside. However, CCTVs are  not installed in the premises and there are no security guards.

“We are working on the clues. Based on the evidence, we will proceed,” said R. Govinda Reddy, inspector Adibhatla.

On December 17, unidentified suspects tried to enter an SBI branch at Shameerpet by cutting open the grills of the bathroom attached to the bank.
