Karimnagar: A cleaner at a private hospital in Karimnagar has been arrested for taking video of a girl having her bath at the hospital on Tuesday.

Police sources have identified the accused as Ramagiri Aravind, a resident of Uttur village in Manakondur mandal, who had been employed by Renee Hospital in the heart of Karimnagar city.

A patient Ramesh, resident of Kollur village, had been admitted to the hospital by his family members a few days ago after he suddenly fainted at home due to rise in blood pressure. Ramesh’s wife and his daughter had also been staying in the hospital as attendants.

After Ramesh took his shower in the attached bathroom on Tuesday, Ramesh’s wife sent her daughter for her bath. At the time, cleaner Aravind started recording her having her birth from the ventilator. When the girl noticed this, she shouted for help. Attendants of other patients in the hospital responded immediately and caught Aravind red-handed with his cell phone.

When Ramesh’s wife complained to hospital management, they neither responded nor took action. Instead, they discharged Ramesh and asked the family to leave the hospital.

Ramesh’s family members staged a dharna in front of the hospital. Speaking to media, Ramesh’s wife protested that the hospital management had not taken any action against the accused. Later, she registered a complaint at the police station against Aravind. Police have arrested Aravind and seized his mobile phone.
