Kovvuru 17th ward councillor murdered
He died on the spot.
Kovvuru: Telugu Desam leader and 17th ward Councillor P.Gopala Krishna, 52 of Kovvuru municipality was brutally murdered on Friday afternoon by unknown miscreants. He was elected as councillor for the municipality three times. Krishna is survived wife, a son and a daughter.
According to Kovvuru police, the councillor had attended a wedding party. After having lunch in wedding, he was going to Aurangabad village on his bike the miscreants attacked him with lethal weapons and stabbed him to death near Aurangabad village. He died on the spot.
Kovvuru DSP Narra Venkateswara Rao said that the motive behind murder is yet to be known. Kovvuru MLA K.S. Jawahar said that no one would be spared and the accused would be punished severely.
Meanwhile, Deputy Chief Minister and also home minister N. China Rajappa instructed the police to fan teams to nab the accused. Kovvuru SubInspector S.S.S. Pavan Kumar registered a case and Circle Inspector B. Prasada Rao is investigating the case.
